Bennett had another successful hunt. He participated in the youth pheasant hunt at the Wayne Fitzgerald State Park this morning for his first time. We asked our neighbor Larry to come along with his bird dogs to find the pheasants nesting. Right off the dogs flushed a hen, it scared Bennett, he shot and missed. Pheasants are sly, crafty and have an unpredictable behavior pattern.

The next pheasant that the dogs locked down, Bennett shot and got a nice hen. We kept on walking and wondering if we were going to see anymore. We moved spots and walked into the field a few feet, the dogs pointed and a hen and rooster flocked up, Bennett shot and got the rooster! His bag limit was two, with three shots, he killed two ring-necked pheasants! He was tired afterwards but had a great hunt! Thanks to our friends at the park and Larry for bringing your dogs!

Bennett got up at 3:30 a.m. this morning to go duck hunting with Bob in a boat. Bob is a co-worker of mine that works at the Mt Vernon bank. This is the story that Bennett and Bob told: there was a flock of ducks that went by (6 to be exact), Bennett had 3 shots in his gun, he shot, 1, 2, 3 times and killed 1, 2, and 3 ducks! The ducks were ring neck drakes. They waited around looking for the next flock and one lonely duck came by, Bennett shot but the duck was pretty far away. Bennett was so tickled with his accuracy with this being his first time and all. He had a blast – Thanks Bob for taking him! Needless to say, Bennett is feeling pretty good today!

It was really neat and so funny! We loved it and we can’t tell you how much we appreciated everyone’s outpouring love and generosity!

I couldn’t believe that the teachers won! They really looked hot!

This is Harry, he is an 8 week old puggle. A puggle is a pug and beagle mix. Bennett’s cousins, Drew and Sarah, got Harry on Monday, and Bennett and Hamilton got to play with Harry tonight for a little while. He already is a bennettpage.org fan!

Everyone in the community is invited to a Pep Session for Bennett on Friday, April 13th at the Benton Middle School at 2:00 p.m.  Admission is only $1.00.     Activities include:

Donation cans will be set up at the school all week, the person’s name will be on a can. The can with the most money in it for 5th/6th, and 7th/8th teachers and the volleyball players will get a pie in their face thrown by Hamilton and Bennett.

I can’t believe Spring is already here, the first day of spring on March 21st. Bennett was feeling better today and we had an idea. Let’s go feed the ducks at Lake Benton. The boys and I do this once a year or so for something fun/different to do. So we waited for Hamilton to get out of school, bought some bread and went to feed the ducks. The ducks enjoyed it and so did we! It was so nice to be outside with my favorite 2 boys!

I didn’t know we had a Dr. in the house until last night. Hamilton played as a Dr. giving his Dad a bone marrow test, the funny part is that he was giving him a shot in his head! He was cute! He wanted this Dr. outfit from the gift shop at the hospital so he could wear it and take care of Bennett.

This is Nell. She comes to the hospital one or twice a week. She is always dressed up in a different outfit. She even climbed up in bed with me today and laid with me. She is so sweet, it brought a touch of home to my room!
