Bennett’s ANC was 1,827 today from 1,792! WBC were 2.9 with 63 neutrophils. His hemoglobin was 12.1 from 11.7 and platelets went up to 208 from 175! We really like these higher numbers! His counts are finally staying stable since he started the maintenance phase in April! We are very thankful!

His liver functions were up to 191 from 85. His Dr. was little concerned but she wants him to take as much chemo as he can so she wants him to continue on the same dosage and check counts again in two weeks. If he shows signs of upset stomach before than, we will have them checked sooner. This side effect would possibly mean his liver levels are too high.

He had his haircut today since it was shaved off 22 months ago. He wanted the length the same but to trim off the older hair that had been there for many months. I almost felt like it was his first hair cut! LOL He has always been so picky about his hair so our friend Laura came to the rescue again.

Bennett had a good day. I am blessed to be able to take off work to spend with the boys. We went to see Bedtime Stories this afternoon. A really cute movie!

Community asked to donate soda tabs to help offset medical Expenses for Page

Benton students are doing what they can to help on of their own. Heather Threlkeld, Benton Community Consolidated Grade School Dist 47 Parent Teacher Organization president, said organizers are hosting a different type of fund-raiser for Page that will run throughout the school year.

“We are asking for community involvement.” Threlkeld said. We have three collection boxes inside the school. One near the K-4 office, 3-4 and 5-8 commons area.

Threlkeld said tabs would be taken to the recycling center. “We will donate the money collected to Bennett’s family,” she said.

Benton Grade School students Kyrie Dial, 9, and Logan Threlkeld, 9, both fourth graders, are joining forces with their classmates to collect soda can tabs to benefit Bennett Page. Page was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February. PTO President Heather Threlkeld invites the community to participate. God has blessed us with such awesome family and friends! It’s so amazing to know you have the support and love from so many!

It was so overwhelming tonight at Bennett’s benefit at the Boccie Club, how special we are to be blessed with such an awesome support system! SO many people have gave so generously in donations for the auction and on their auction bids.

I looked at the crowd and realized some have known Bennett since birth and others didn’t know him at all. God has blessed us with kind and genuine hearted people!

Bennett felt good today and was able to attend and he had fun with his friends!

The K-4 Benton Grade School PTO is starting a fund-raiser, “Tabs for Bennett”. You can help by taking the tab off of your can drinks, put them in a bag and start collecting. You can take the tabs to Benton Grade School or US Bank . Since school is about out, save your tabs all summer and we will begin collecting when school starts in the fall. This fund-raiser will run for the entire 2007-2008 school year.
