October 14th update

Bennett is doing good. It was so nice having him home for dinner tonight. He hasn’t been home in the evening since last Thursday. I am so happy that he is well enough to do things and can but I sure do miss him when he is not around.

He went Monday night to the freshman football game in Harrisburg with a friend and last night was the sophomore game in Harrisburg. Unfortunately we lost both games. He has been video taping the sophomore games for the coach.

We will check counts this weekend. We pray they are good. We go Tuesday for his monthly Dr. visit and chemo treatment in St. Louis. It’s been heavenly not having to spend too much time in the hospitals the last few months.

I encourage everyone to take extra measures in trying to keep germs from spreading and getting sick. It’s important that you and your family wash your hands frequently especially before meals. After visiting a public place, use hand sanitizer or wash your hands to kill the germs that you might of picked up. If everyone did this and every public place took extra cleaning measures, we would be a lot healthier!

October 11th update

I think Bennett is still wound up from homecoming. He got very little sleep last night and this morning. I was just sure he would take a nap when he got home today from the party last night but he hasn’t. Him and a friend are hanging out, went fishing and to the movies.

Bennett had such a great time at Homecoming. He said he even danced slow and fast with several people. It was a nice week with all the different events, we are appreciative of everyone’s time putting this all together. Highschool memories….

Bennett is really doing good. We are so thankful that the flu bug hasn’t gotten him. We continue to be cautious and pray that he can keep from getting sick. Many schools are taking the H1N1 very seriously and are doing preventive measures which were are thankful.

Hamilton has been busy going deer hunting with Sid this weekend. It’s youth shot gun season. They saw four doe’s and one buck this morning.

Tonight they saw a 4 point buck and a 7 point buck. Hamilton heard them grunting, They called them in and BANG! Hamilton got the 7 pointer which is a nice small young buck! His first deer!

Bennett will not have a blood test until next weekend. We pray that his liver levels are down closer in normal range and all other counts are good.

Thank you for checking in. It has been an enjoyable couple months around our house and OH BOY, is it a BLESSING! Thank you God!

October 8th update

Bennett is doing good. He is having a great week at school. It’s Homecoming at the high school and he is enjoying all the events so far. Tomorrow, is the homecoming pep session, parade, football game and Saturday is the dance.

Most importantly Bennett has been feeling well. He has been headache free this week which is simply a blessing. We are so thankful that the spinal tap didn’t get him down like past times.

He is slowly making up his school work that he missed while in Alaska. The school and teachers have been extremely helpful. Hamilton had so much homework to finish up that it has taken the last two weekends and nightly studying to catch up but were almost there.

We ask a special prayer to all the kids fighting and on treatment, May God bless them and keep them in remission forever and ever!

October 5th update

Bennett is doing good. We are so grateful and pleasantly surprised that he made it this weekend without getting sick. He tried to rest more and not over do it. He had a headache for a couple days but it was manageable. We’re thankful the extra steps during his spinal tap helped and he didn’t have to be hospitalized. What a Blessing!

Bennett has been either attending football games or practices the last several days. Tonight he went to the sophomore game at Massac and they won!

He hung with me yesterday afternoon running errands, washing car, etc after church. I always love the one on one time we have together. He went back to church last night for youth night to make care packages for college students.

All is well and it’s the best feeling! God is Good!
