August 17th update
Today was Bennett’s First day of High school! I had to talk to myself to keep back the tears. I really believe it was more tears of joy, we are so happy for this new adventure in his life and that he finally made it. They only went to school till 10:40 going about 10 minutes to each class.
He went to weight lifting after school for about an hour and half. He went to lunch and hung out with some friends until it was time to go to football practice this evening. I believe he is starting to feel more comfortable at practice, he said he is doing more things for the coaches and helping out the players.
A storm was coming tonight at practice and Bennett ended up rolling up all the windows that he could in everyone’s cars. I am so thankful that he wants to help others and that this isn’t beneath him.
So far, Bennett has few friends in each class and he likes his schedule for this semester. He started Drivers Ed! We pray his freshman year brings many great memories and fun times!

A new beginning.....
Hello Cindy — I am so glad to read of all the good news here on Bennetts site each morning. When I read this update it is really very emotional looking back on all that Bennett has been through, your heart must be busting with pride over the wonderful son you have raised. What a blessing!! I am so happy that he is enjoying being on the football team, what a great attitude he has. Key word being team, one person doesn’t make a team, it takes ALL of those boys and coaches working together to find success, each being equally as important. I look forward to your postings each day and look forward to seeing you at the football games!! Take care–
