November 3rd update

Bennett’s ANC today was 1,104 from 2,278. He had 2.4 WBC from 3.4 and 46 neutrophils from 67. Sometimes I can’t figure out why it drops so quickly, it makes it difficult to be too excited with his numbers. We pray for some consistency and that they won’t drop anymore. His hemoglobin was good at 11.5 from 11.9 and platelets at 106 from 112.

Bennett’s basketball ball team tonight won against Sparta 45 to 21 in the DuQuoin tournament. He came in with about 2:50 left of the 1st quarter and made his first basket! He played every quarter. He had one other shot but missed. He also had an assist, 2 rebounds, 1 save, 2 fouls and took a charge. He plays big man.

He fell on his ankle which worried me but he got right back up. He says it happens quite a bit in practice when he running and his legs/ankle gives. The side effect of the vincristine chemo he gets monthly causes “jello” legs and loss of balance. He seemed to keep up good with the plays and running up and down the court.

Bennett said he was nervous tonight about playing. It has been two years since he has played. He was afraid that he would have an air ball and instead he made his first shot. He would prefer to be playing a lot better but considering his physical strength a few months ago, he has come along way! Thanks to our Almighty God!

Cindy, I was glad to read your update. I don’t understand the number game either but
I am glad to see that his counts are “ok”. I will pray for consistency!! I was also glad to hear that Bennett is playing basketball again. Isn’t it great to get to cheer for him again on the court!! I will continue to pray for good things for Bennett and your family. I also love the picture of ‘Hamiltons gang’, pretty handsome group! Take care!
