May 10th update

10:00 am  Bennett’s temp is normal – 98.6!  At 4 am it was 99.3.  He is still sleeping. His WBC is 1.1 from 1.2 and neutrophils are 64 from 44 with an ANC of 726 from 528!  Hemoglobin is 9.4 from 9.1 and platelets are 47 from 45.  Almost everything went up!    His creatinine level was normal at .08 which they are keeping a close eye on this because the amphotericin can hurt your kidney’s.

Hamilton is in the Rend Lake Parade today for being one of the top five students to know their states. I’m so proud of you Ham and miss you!

*3:00 pm Bennett woke up around 12:30, ate some cereal.  His temp is 98.1, it was 99.1 at noon.  His friend Brittani is in the hospital and came by to see him, please pray that her lung infection goes away.  He got the antiobiotic meropenum around 1:00.  He will get another dose of amphotericin around 6:00, praying for no shakes or side effects.

*9:00 pm  Bennett ate a couple cheese sticks for supper. The amphotericin is completed. Bennett was pre-medicated with tylenol, benadryl, and demerol at 5.  He also got demerol 1/2 way in between and he did not get the shakes this time.  He is extremely tired, all this medicine has made him sleepy.  He temp went down to 97.7 while they were checking vitals every 15 minutes for the last 2 hours. At 8:30 his temp was 100.0 but it might be up because another side effect of the ampho is a fever.

Bennett was feeling fair today.  He didn’t want to get up or really do anything but lay in bed this afternoon. The Dr. thought his color looked a lot better today.

“And remember that God has promised that if you will put your trust in him to bring about the justice in your life, he will pay you back for all the unfair things that have happened to you.” Isaiah 61:7-9

Good new about the counts. What a wonderful Mothers Day present!

I asked the Lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today
to guide you and protect you
as you go along the way…

His love is always with you
    His promises are true
and when we give him all of our cares
you know He will see us through

So when the road you are traveling on
    seems difficult at best
just remember I am here praying
and God will do the rest.
