March 19th update

Bennett has been up and down this weekend. He felt real bad Friday and Saturday. Sunday he felt some better and now today he doesn’t feel well. His stomach is really bothering him. He has been in bed all day. He has zofran that he can take every 6 hours as needed for upset stomach and nausea which he has taken today. He has ate very little. He thought Subway sounded good, but he only ate a couple of bites of his sandwich.

Our next doctor appointment is Friday which will be a blood test, bone marrow, spinal tap and prevention chemo in the spine. These tests will tell us if the chemo so far is working by killing the blast cells. Also if he still has blasts he may need radiation treatment. No matter what the bone marrow tests shows, he will still be on the next phase of treatment which includes several more chemo drugs. They are looking at the bone marrow to see how many blasts cells he has. The first bone marrow on Feb. 22nd, he had 95% blasts. The last bone marrow test on March 2nd, he had 2%. We need 0% on the Friday test .

Please keep lifting Bennett up in your prayers, God is in control!

    Bennett and Family:

There is a song that I sang at Coach V’s parents’ church a couple of months ago. The song I feel is very fitting and comforting, I have included the artist and lyrics so you can enjoy as well.

PRAISE YOU IN THIS STORM-by Casting Crowns

I was sure by now, Lord You would have reached down,
And wiped our tears away, stepped in and saved the day.
My strength is almost gone, how can I carry on, If I cant find you.
But as the Thunder rolls, I barely hear you whisper in the rain, I’m with you,
But as the mercy falls, I raise my hands and praise the God who gives and takes away.

I will praise You in this storm, and I will lift my hands,
For You are who You are, no matter where I am.
Every tear I’ve cried, You hold in Your hands,
You’ve never left my side, and though my heart is torn,
I will praise You in this storm.

I remember when I stumbled in the wind, You heard my cry You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone, how can I carry on, if I cant find You.
But as the thunder rolls, I barely hear You whisper through the rain, I’m with you.
As the mercy falls, I raise hands and praise the One who gives and takes away.

I will praise You in this storm, and I will lift my hands,
For You are who You are, no matter where I am.
Every tear I’ve cried, You hold in Your hands,
You’ve never left my side, and though my heart is torn,
I will praise You in this storm.

I lift my eyes up to the hills, where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
I lift my eyes up to the hills, where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

I will praise You in this storm, and I will lift my hands,
For You are who You are, no matter where I am.
Every tear I’ve cried, You hold in Your hands,
You’ve never left my side, and though my heart is torn,
I will praise You in this storm.

Though my heart is torn, I will praise you in this storm.

I hope this song encourages you guys as it does me. Love ya Bennett…still praying buddy!!!

Miss Ashley, This songs brings tears to my eyes. I can hear you singing it and it’s beautiful! I recall you singing at Immanuel and you always did a great job. I appreciate you sharing this with us. It’s very fitting as Bennett is going through a horrible storm right now and he must hold unto his faith in God and cry out to him when he needs comforting. When the storm ends, we will praise God as he carried him through it.
